Liverpool AFRICA OYÉ Festival Saturday 23rd & Sunday 24th 2012

It's that time of the year again: Africa Oyé Festival graces the picturesque surroundings of Sefton Park in Liverpool for a line up including some of the finest in World music. Oyé are proud to announce that the two day event will once again be free and of course open to all.

This time round they will be celebrating 20 years of African music and culture and with the impressive turn out of last year the organisers are looking to outdo themselves once again. This year marks a truly monumental landmark in their journey from their misty grassroots of '92 hosting a series of gigs in Liverpool City Centre via Birkenhead Park, to Sefton Park to cope with demand – and in 2008 and moving to an even bigger site within Sefton Park so as to accommodate the growing audience of music lovers and festival goers from across the country.

The past two decades of Africa Oyé have blessed our eardrums with some of the world's biggest artists in reggae, salsa, soca and more. Amazing sounds and performances, amplifying the culture and roots of Africa, the Caribbean and South and Central America have all been found for one weekend a year in Liverpool.

All this for free? These guys are nuts.
