For five years, the London based website Black Cab Sessions has been at forefront of new music with their kooky, boutique live sets filmed in the back of cabs. After growing a cult following, they have today announced they will be launching their own record label, BCS Records.
BCS announced the news about the label this afternoon via their twitter page: “Since we started, we have been about not only putting big well known bands in the back of the cab, but also brand new artists. We felt it important to have the 'big' with the 'soon to be big'. Its been an honor to work with people like Jack white, Brian Wilson, The Roots, John Legend etc but its also been equally important to discover and showcase bands we think have that extra something, and put them on the same platform. We were first to showcase bands like Lianne La Havas, Michael Kiwanuka, Dry The River etc. We're thrilled about that but now we want to work with our discoveries in a broader way and give them the tools to get their music out there. We're launching BCS RECORDS – a home to new artists where we can be their 'midwife' and help them navigate the turbulent music industry.”
The label have also announced their leading signing as being London based singer-songwriter Wall. You can stream 'Magazine' by Wall below and catch her live at the Sebright Arms on the 15th August.
