La Shark Added To Radio One Playlist

Following their packed, buzzy gig at Birthdays and a stunning performance on the BBC Introducing stage at T In The Park (which you can view here link – well worth watching to the end to see some impromptu onstage gymnastics) La Shark’s track ‘Magazine Cover’ has been added to Radio 1’s Introducing Playlist link, which means the unsigned band will get a daily play on Radio 1 this week.

La Shark’s new single (available August 6th) is AA side of ‘Mr Modern Man’ backed with ‘Magazine Cover’, which received a limited 7 inch release late last year. The track received support from Zane Lowe and Lauren Laverne, who commented on her 6Music show, “noisy brilliance…La Shark are all kinds of ace.”

A product of New Cross via Cairo, Paris and Kendal, La Shark are Samuel Geronimo Deschamps on vox, Benjamin Francis Markham on lead guitar, Love Maynard on bass, Sami El Enany on keys and N.H.A Buxton on drums. La Shark have a highly distinctive sound that nevertheless evokes all the best parts of Devo, Talking Heads and ‘Mothers Milk’ era Red Hot Chili Peppers.
