Two Wounded Birds - To Be Young
Album Review

Two Wounded Birds – To Be Young

A downbeat, percussion infused, sauntering intro cautiously introduces intertwining guitar driven momentum as the vocals of Johnny Danger step in to impart some gruelling heart and fuzzy reflection on latest Two Wounded Birds single ‘To Be Young’.

Soft femme-backing vocals provide some cushioning and smoothness to the raw pop parade, while oxymoronic lyrics complement the sense of maudlin confusion given off:

“There’s nothing to do; there’s too much to do.”

The pedestrian delivery and feel of the song at times lets down the feral bemusement of the lyrics, but that said, Two Wounded Birds have a solid debut behind them and this is a song that could be given extra impetus in a live setting.

They are set to embark on a headline UK tour this autumn and look to build upon their dynamic live reputation.

Rating: 3/5
