Hercules & Love Affair To Headline Meltdown

HERCULES AND LOVE AFFAIR return to London in August for a headlining appearance at this year’s Meltdown.

HALA have been invited to play Meltdown 2012 by this year’s curator Anthony Hegarty – guest vocalist on the HALA’s 2008 worldwide club smash ‘Blind’. Hegarty will be joining HALA on stage for the first time for a performance of this celebrated song.

Also appearing with the band will be John Grant – the renowned singer/songwriter whose breakthrough debut “Queen Of Denmark” featured widely in 2010’s year end album polls. Grant takes the lead vocal on HALA’s new release ‘I Try To Talk To You’, the first taster from their forthcoming album due for release in spring 2013.

On this version of ‘I Try To Talk To You’ – remixed by HALA head honcho Andy Butler – Butler takes his trademark leap through the decades mining a rich furrow of Philly and Chicago house which he weaves around Grant’s soulful vocal.

Blue Songs released in 2010 saw Butler shift the focus away from the NYC house and disco of HALA’s debut and broaden his musical palette. The album was produced by techno producer Patrick Pulsinger and featured guest artists Kele Okereke (Bloc Party) and Mark Pistel (Meat Beat Manifesto / Consolidated and won widespread critical acclaim.
