Laurel Collective – Jelly Bird

Shimmering, psychedelic and carrying a wonderfully executed madness, Jelly Bird showcases so very perfectly what Laurel Collective are about. Modestly employed synth, tight guitars and an all-out percussion section dominate ‘Jelly Bird’.

This is the band who, whilst holding down 9 to 5s (which includes call centres, a phlebotomist, and even producing duties, drummer Charlie Andrew recently produced the new Alt-J record) conceived and curate their own festival: In The Woods. Their tireless superhuman efforts brought to our attention the likes of Micachu and the Shapes, Pete and the Pirates and a beguiling young woman called Anna Calvi; and now they deserve the same attention. Laurel Collective epitomise intelligent music at its best: a witty, diverse and modern take on the indie genre.

Laurel Collective are a little strange, a little peculiar. Pop music incarnate.

Catch them live at the following dates;

Friday 3rd August In The Woods Warm-Up with Special Guests @ Corsica Studios
Saturday 1st September In The Woods Festival
Saturday 8th September Bestival
Wednesday 3rd October Electric Ballroom (Supporting ManLikeMe)
