Be Like Pablo - The New Adventures
Album Review

Be Like Pablo – The New Adventures

There are various meanings for the phrase “pop music”. Some see it as simply being short for “popular” but others associated a particular sound and genre with the term. Be Like Pablo and their catchy boy/girl, Synth driven tracks fit somewhere inbetween those definitions.

On the lead up to the album release, the band have given away a number of tracks to the folks who have registered at [link]. Those songs are still available and include a number that are not on the album.

Opening track “The Things You Do” has a mellow introduction. The prominent drums and hint of guitar accompany the vocals perfectly before the full band kicks in for the chorus.

“The Post-It Song” is a previous release and has a lovely video to go with it. Upbeat and full of energy, this track couldn’t fail to even get the most boring of gig-goers on their feet. “Oh, Emily” is a bit slower and is fuelled by love loss, much like many of the tracks on this album. This takes us nicely onto “Someone To Love”. “Julianne” is another track that has been around for a while. Any Be Like Pablo fan will know it well. You cannot help but sing along to the chrous’ leading line “I’m in love with Julianne”. The album concludes with “Between The Lines”.

I cannot stress enough how good this band are and how great this record is. Be Like Pablo have music to suit every mood and their twee tinged hits will put a smile on anyone’s face. The best thing about this album though is that it’s free.
