Jackpot Review

We already had Headhunters earlier this year, now comes the next screen Nesbo thriller in Jackpot: an often daftly funny black thriller.

Oscar has found himself covered in blood, and at the police station being questioned about events that have spiralled out of control. Turns out Oscar and 3 of his work colleagues made the right bet and won a rather sizeable jackpot. But winning a lot of money makes some minds greedy, and it isn’t long before everyone is turning on each other, with gruesome, but often funny results.

Anyone missing the mad cap plotting and pace of the likes of say Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels may find this one right up their alley with a pinch of Coen brothers sprinkled on top for flavour.

It may not be pretty, but this black thriller zips along at a mad-cap pace from one extreme situation to the next. Expect spurts of blood, tasteless killings and to his a wide smirk on your face as it all happens. One for the sick of mind.
