On October 1st 2012, Berlin’s Souterrain Transmissions will be releasing the second LP by psychedelic hip cats Moon Duo. You can check out the video for “Sleepwalker” from the LP above. We’ve heard the album and it’s about as far out as things get – the Sixties are back in style. Turn on, tune in and drop out.
After their recent Rough Trade in store show, which saw queues stretch right around the block, things are looking very exciting for the pair of Ripley Johnson (also known for his other band Wooden Shjips) and Sanae Yamada.
Now they return with this second record, ‘Circles’, inspired by Ralph Waldo Emerson’s 1841 essay of the same name, on the symbol and nature of “the flying Perfect.”
From the opening lines: “The eye is the first circle; the horizon which it forms is the second; and throughout nature this primary figure is repeated without end.” And so it goes. Rust never sleeps.
