LEGO X-Wing Starfighter & Yavin 4 Review

X-wing Starfighter & Yavin 4

Pieces: 77

Ages: 6-12

Mini Figures: 1

Pilot

Price: £9.99

What’s Inside:

1 instruction manual.

1 Yavin 4 Globe containing pieces

2 bags of Lego for each build stage.

Background: Yab=vin 4 is of course home to the secret rebel base put under threat at the end of A New Hope. It’s up to Luke Skywalker and a the rest of the rebels to leap into their X-Wing fighters and take on the Death Star before it blows Yavin 4 out of the stars.

Building:

This second round of Star Wars buildable galaxy sets includes this new addition. The globe of course is simple two large pieces that contain all the bits you need. Inside you get your Mini-fig, an easily assembled display base and then the main construct itself – a miniature vehicle of some sort. Here the X-wing is likely to take you a tad longer than previous galaxy sets as it has a few more pieces (happily).  The X-wing though does mean you have a bit of repetition with the wings. But it’s such a small set that it is hardly going to bother you. In the end you do get one of the more iconic fighters from the entire franchise!

Finished Product:

And iconic it is. Having the fighter in his orange fatigues stand next to a newly displayed X-Wing in great detail for such a small model (Although you should have seem the impressed look on our faces when we build the Advent Calendar version last year!).

If you are collecting the Building Galaxy – then this is hardly one to miss!
