The new video for Jens Lekman’s third single ‘Become Someone Else’s’ is available now, premiering yesterday at Pitchfork and Disco Naivété. Taken from his recently released full length ‘I Know What Love Isn’t’, the video is Lekman’s third collaboration with director Marcus Söderlund. The two artists chose to record at the Råbjerg Mile dunes in Denmark where the image for the album cover was also shot.
Director Söderlund says: “These three videos that I made in collaboration with Jens were all done in one take. They are like a glass of water. They are nothing. But for me they are essential. Just as essential as air or water. Try to produce water – you will need that skill if you’re going into the desert.”
Jens will also make his US network television debut on ‘Late Night with Jimmy Fallon’ Tuesday 9th October, following his show at Terminal 5 in NYC with Taken By Trees on Monday 8th October. Currently on a North American tour, Lekman has additionally just announced a collaboration with Moleskine on a custom notebook with artwork by John Gilsenan. This notebook will be available exclusively as tour merch at Jens Lekman shows across the US & Canada.
‘I Know What Love Isn’t’ is out now worldwide on Secretly Canadian and Service in Scandinavia, available in all good record shops and digitally at iTunes. As evidenced above, Lekman’s first album in 5 years is currently running the gauntlet of international critical acclaim, with the latest feature being a thoughtful and entertaining clip of Jens being interviewed on Pitchfork..
Lekman also recently announced a new run of UK/EU tour dates for late November, full details of Jens’ complete UK Autumn shows are as follows.
