“Wet Blanket” is now the subject of an amazing new video, directed by Scott Cudmore & Michael Leblanc. SPIN.com premiered the video today, and had this to say:
“a harshly lit visual compliment whose editorial rhythms are redolent of the best GIF you’ve ever seen “

METZ has seen critical acclaim from the likes of The New Yorker, Brooklyn Vegan, SPIN, Exclaim!, NME, The Guardian, BBC and more. NME (in an 8 of 10 review) raved, “It’s pure American hardcore, as METZ channel Hüsker Dü and The Jesus Lizard… Their pace doesn’t let up, nor does their ire. METZ deliver the same righteous anger that informed much of their favourite music in the early ‘90s. The players might have changed but the problems remain the same: those affected by youth unemployment and conservative government can find salvation in hardcore. METZ are here to offer you redemption.”
METZ’s self-titled, full-length debut, which The New Yorker calls, “Rude, severe, and excellent”, is out now in North America via Sub Pop. The album, which features the singles “Headache” and “Wet Blanket”, is available on CD, LP and digitally. The album will also see release in Europe on Monday, October 15.
