Miniature Dinosaurs: New EP and Tour

Miniature Dinosaurs release the Turn It On EP through Integrity Records on CD and download. The 4-track EP features the band’s acclaimed summer single “Lemonade”, together with new songs “Lip Sync”, “Turn It On” and current lead track “Next Of Kin” which is accompanied by a Dan Morgan directed video.

Download single “Lemonade”, which was released in August, saw massive support for the band from national and regional radio including Q Radio and Amazing Radio whose DJ Jim Gellatly says: “Miniature Dinosaurs, one of my favourite new Scottish bands….These guys blew me away…..a very special band”, along with a 4* review in Artrocker Magazine and being hailed as “a band to watch out for”.

“Next of Kin” shows a more serious side of Miniature Dinosaurs’ sound both sonically and lyrically. Although a song about returning home to their native Scotland, it’s a theme that the band believe people all over the world could relate to.

“Lip Sync” charts the progress of a commoner living with the wealthy, a thematic reversal of Pulp’s classic ‘Common People’, and EP closer “Turn It On” continues the Dinosaurs’ quirky study of everyday issues, highlighting the increasing raft of excuses based on mobile phone malfunction.

Miniature Dinosaurs bassist Alban Dickson: “The recording of the EP was a fun, albeit strange, experience. We went into the studio with a totally open mind which led to everything from recording a fire extinguisher to Barry eating his first curry. If you listen closely you might be able to pick out other sounds like an old tea tray being battered!”

Earlier this year Miniature Dinosaurs were nominated as ‘Best Live Act’ at the Scottish Alternative Music Awards. They take their acclaimed live show on a UK tour to support the EP release this autumn:
