Frankie & The Heartstrings To Return With New Music And Dates

Sunderland’s sharpest and best-connected band, Frankie & The Heartstrings, are to release a brand new recording via their label, Pop Sex Ltd today, Wednesday 17th October.

‘I Still Follow You’ will be available to download for free from their band page link and is the first material to come from album sessions with former Suede man and producer Bernard Butler that began this summer. The band collaborated with Butler on their post-Hunger album single ‘Everybody Looks Better (In The Right Light)’ last year and will release a new album early in 2013.

Tracks from the sessions will be amongst those songs played out live this winter as they accompany The Cribs on selected dates in the UK, followed by a run of fan-friendly tiny headline shows in November. A full album touring schedule will be announced early next year.

‘I Still Follow You’ maintains the F&THs tradition of songs that refuse to outstay their welcome – a three-minute burst of passion and guitars, with enough new tricks to show that they’ve spent the last six months updating their book of indie nous.

Speaking with regards to the past year and their new LP on the horizon, singer Frankie Francis said, “we’re raring to go with this new record, it’s been a long year and staying off the road so we can write and record a great album has been tough for us at times, but we’ve put everything we have into it and can’t wait to unleash it”.

Frankie & the Heartstring’s debut album ‘Hunger’ was released to huge acclaim in February 2011, arriving in the top 40 album charts. The quintet subsequently performed across the UK, Europe, Japan, America and Australia culminating in a series of high-profile festival appearances in the summer that year.
