Scottish quintet Frightened Rabbit are pleased to announce details of a UK headline tour, which will take place throughout February 2013. The run of dates kick off at Norwich’s Waterfront on Feb 8, taking in Birmingham, Portsmouth, Brighton, London (Forum), Cambridge, Bristol, Exeter Pheonix, Stoke, Leeds, Nottingham, Manchester, Liverpool, Gateshead, Edinburgh and Aberdeen, before finishing up at Glasgow’s Barrowlands on Feb 28. The band’s fourth studio album (first on Atlantic Records) is set to release early 2013 – more details coming soon.
It’s already been a fantastic year for the quintet. In September, the band released their EP ‘State Hospital’, which gained a flurry of fantastic critiques. The NME stated it was the band’s ‘most ambitious work to date,’ while The Independent said ‘these blusteringly brilliant Scots rockers continue their slow march to stardom…’ The title track gained support from the likes of Zane Lowe at Radio 1 and XFM.
Frightened Rabbit embarked on a short UK headline tour this September and are currently travelling across America on a headline tour. They also recently supported fellow Scots Biffy Clyro at the iTunes Festival at Camden’s Roundhouse. The band recorded their new album in Wales’ Monnow Valley studio over the summer months – artists that have contributed to the studio’s fame include Oasis, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath and many more. Production comes from Leo Abrahams (Grace Jones, Brian Eno and David Byrne).
