Such Gold To Release Debut Album

US melodic hardcore/punk act Such Gold is set to release their debut studio album, ‘Misadventures’, in the UK on 25th February, 2013 via Razor & Tie. The album was produced by Steve Evetts (Every Time I Die, Saves The Day, Lifetime, The Dillinger Escape Plan). Even before their debut was recorded, Such Gold featured in Alternative Press’ 100 Bands You Need To Know and even made it over to the UK a couple of times with the likes of The Wonder Years.

They’ve also supported artists such as A Day To Remember, Polar Bear Club and MXPX back in the States. The release of ‘Misadventures’ will follow the band’s next batch of UK dates which will see them supporting Funeral For A Friend on an extensive run of shows around the country. Such Gold say “this will be the longest tour we’ve ever done in the UK and we’re stoked to see all the friends we’ve made there over the years and play in some new places”

“Everything we do is a misadventure,” admits Nate Derby the guitarist, songwriter and founder of Such Gold when musing on the album’s title. “Nothing ever goes right.” Derby cites such an experience in the fall of 2009 as being particularly important to Such Gold. “We had just started touring, and we had booked a couple shows in Massachusetts,” he begins. “We had this huge, ‘80s Dodge RV van, and it was a total piece of shit. It broke down at this gas station in Canaan, New York, which we now believe to be cursed. But we had people pick us up, we get to the show and it was wild. I think it was the first time we had really seen kids go crazy for us.”

Such Gold spread their gospel the old-fashioned way, by gigging across the U.S. (and the rest of the world), winning over hundreds of fans (and breaking vans – many) in the process. One-off EPs with hardcore labels Mightier Than Sword and 6131 followed, eventually landing them a record contract with Razor & Tie.

‘Misadventures’ is 28 minutes of pure aggression that will quicken your pulse and make you think. Vocalist Kotin says “Many things in life seem like they’re caused by bad fortune but if you look deep enough you can see the reasons why things are the way they are. This is our life, our adventure.”
