Major Lazer release their second album ‘Free The Universe’, due February 2013, which will play host to collaborations with various vocalists and artists from around the globe, promising to be more diverse than anything Major Lazer have released previously.
In anticipation of this, on December 3 they will release new single ‘Jah No Partial’ on Mad Decent. The track enlists one of dubstep’s lead protagonists and BBC Sound of 2012 shortlisted artist Flux Pavillion to assist them on production duties.
Hoping to inspire listeners to stop, listen and learn a little more about reggae and soundsystem culture; ‘Jah No Partial’ fuses a sample from Johnny Osbournes’ roots classic ‘Mr Marshall’ with heady rave synths, vibrant carnival percussion and a monstrous bassline certain to move you each time it hits.
With soundsystems in mind, the full Major Lazer line-up plus a whole host of guests and dancers will gracing our shores and bringing their infamous block party to the Red Bull Culture Clash on Wednesday 7th November. Hoping to take the crown from current champions Channel One, they will also be facing competition from Annie Mac and Boy Better Know.
