CROWN JEWEL DEFENSE

Its not often that dreams come true, but that is exactly what has happened to Taylor Hood, the mastermind behind Crown Jewel Defense. Taking an idea formed in his bedroom to become one of the most popular new bands in the industry in record breaking time, takes just the right combination of insanity and hard work.

But that hard work is paying off in the form of sold out shows around the world and international tours supporting superstars like All Time Low, The Darkness, Young Guns, and Foxy Shazam. The numbers speak for themselves, playing to more than 100,000 people in under 2 years is quite an accomplishment.

Under the watchful eye of acclaimed producer Michael “Elvis” Baskette (Falling In Reverse, Escape The Fate, Alter Bridge), the multi instrumentalist/songwriter created an album full of stadium anthems that are almost impossible to define, with such massive appeal the possibilities are endless. Blending feel-good classic rock like Kansas and Boston with the aggression of modern metal titans like Avenged Sevenfold and Children Of Bodom would be a treat in and of itself. CJD throws in a curveball with the pop melodies and songwriting sensibilities normally found with artists like Avril Lavigne and Miley Cyrus all mixed together effortlessly with an indefinable characteristic, creating a sound that is 100% Crown Jewel Defense.

Of course the secret to the success is without a doubt the live show which utilizes the production and entertainment elements of glam metal weaved together with the raw unpolished power of a sweaty rock club show. With a commanding stage presence like Steven Tyler mixed with the musical mystique and prowess of Slash, Taylor makes it nearly impossible to take your eyes off the stage. Of course with a show as electrifying as this one, who would want to.
