Stornoway Announce New Album and 2013 Tour

Oxford quartet Srornoway have announced they have completed the follow-up to 2010’s award winning album Beachcomber’s Windowsill, which to date has sold over 75,000 copies in the UK.

Tales From Terra Firma is due for release in March 2013 and it marks a significant progression from Beachcomber’s both compositionally, instrumentally and, in particular, lyrically. While beaming with an undeniable sophistication, Tales From Terra Firma retains the unique charm of their debut that entranced so many.

A 25-date UK tour in support of the new album also kicks off on Friday 8th February. Tickets go on sale week commencing 19th November. It’ll see them playing a hometown show on 15th February at Oxford Town Hall which has already sold out and now a second show has been added for 14th February.

The tour concludes on Wednesday 27th March at The Forum in London. These will be their first UK headline concerts since their acclaimed, sold-out Somerset House performance in front of an audience of three thousand fans, in August 2011.

On 5th December, the band will be taking part in the last of 12 A Room For London sessions, premiering songs from Tales From Terra Firma. A Room for London is a collaboration between Living Architecture and Artangel, in association with Southbank Centre and the London 2012 Festival. Streaming will be via the Guardian. Other artists who have graced the boat on top of the Southbank Centre include Andrew Bird, tUnE-yArDs and Jarvis Cocker.
