The Rolling Stones Unveil Controversial new Video For Doom And Gloom

The Rolling Stones have just delivered a controversial new video clip directed by Jonas Akerlund and staring award winning Swedish actress Noomi Rapace and it packs a punch. She jumped at the chance to get up close and personal with the Stones in Paris and the results are somewhat eye-catching.

The group filmed the footage behind closed doors in a Paris warehouse to promo their latest track, ‘Doom and Gloom’ just prior to playing five big shows in London and New York. Jagger, Richards, Watts & Wood signed up Ms. Rapace, star of the cult movie, ‘The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo’ to join them and the results are bound to shock some ….and please others. Rather like the character in the movie Noomi plays a punk wild child who not only joins the Stones performance, she also goes in for some rather splendid rock n roll /trash the place type behaviour… all in the best possible taste.

The Stones are rock’s original bad boys – ‘the ones in the ‘Black Hats’ as Keith described their image recently. They have raised some hell during their 50 year career as portrayed in the new documentary film ‘Crossfire Hurricane’. However in the Doom And Gloom video, Mick, Keith, Charlie and Ronnie look like innocent bystanders compared to the outrageous antics of Noomi Rapace.

While the Stones look super-cool playing Doom & Gloom, the actress goes into meltdown in one crazy sequence after another.

In ‘The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo’, Noomi portrayed troubled young woman Lisbeth Salander investigating a crooked billionaire. The 2009 movie, directed by Stieg Larsson, was a surprise cult hit seen by more than six million fans. She also starred in Ridley Scott’s ‘Prometheus’.

The stunning promo is directed by the Swedish film maker Jonas Akerlun who won a Grammy Award for ‘Ray Of Light’ by Madonna and also worked with Beyonce, Lady Gaga, The Prodigy and Christina Aguilera.

The Rolling Stones new Doom And Gloom video is guaranteed to make a major impact and proves the Stones are still uber creative, looking forward and pushing them boundaries.
