Sidi Touré January 2013 dates: SAHARA SOUL featuring Bassekou Kouyaté + Tamikrest

After selling out his Cafe Oto date in London recently, Sidi Touré will be back in Europe as part of Sahara Soul with fellow acclaimed Malian musicians Bassekou Kouyaté (with his band Ngoni Ba) and Tamikrest (tour dates are below).

Mali is a country which is currently struggling against military insurgence, but also holds a wealth of cultural and musical traditions. Sahara Soul pays tribute to this and the power of music to unify people.

At a time when Mali faces many challenges, Sahara Soul creates a platform from which its creative community can have their voices heard. All these artists have lived through the devastating consequences of the country’s current instability. Sahara Soul provides a rare opportunity for Malian musicians to join together to express their collective defiance of oppression.
