Geordie alt-pop act SHIELDS have been hovering on our radar for a while now and we’ve featured them on the site before, so we caught up with the lads to find out how they’re spending Christmas 2012 and what their plans are for the New Year. Blending the sounds of Metronomy, Foals and Metric their debut EP Kaleidoscope has put them firmly in the frame as ones to watched for 2013.

Scrooged, Elf, Snowman, Nightmare Before Christmas.
What’s the worst Christmas you’ve ever had?
When I thought I got a Sega Megadrive but in fact realized soon after that it was a Sonic the Hedgehog puzzle. Or when my nana bought me some Teenage Mutant Hero Terrapins from Durham market, they were called Ralph, Donald, Lee and Michael.
