Geordie alt-pop act SHIELDS have been hovering on our radar for a while now and we’ve featured them on the site before, so we caught up with the lads to find out how they’re spending Christmas 2012 and what their plans are for the New Year. Blending the sounds of Metronomy, Foals and Metric their debut EP Kaleidoscope has put them firmly in the frame as ones to watched for 2013.

Well Cilla, if you pick me, you’ll surely find that sometimes, it’s nice to be naughty… (OOOHHH)

Scrooged, Elf, Snowman, Nightmare Before Christmas.

What’s the worst Christmas you’ve ever had?

When I thought I got a Sega Megadrive but in fact realized soon after that it was a Sonic the Hedgehog puzzle. Or when my nana bought me some Teenage Mutant Hero Terrapins from Durham market, they were called Ralph, Donald, Lee and Michael.

Obviously the Kaleidoscope EP. Dave’s written a new audio motivational self help book called “You Are A Strong Confident Woman”.

Which day is better and why: Christmas Eve, Christmas Day or Boxing Day?

With Christmas Eve, you’ve only got one day to wait. Boxing day you’ve got to wait 364 days. So it’s obviously Christmas day.
