One of Glasgow’s hottest unsigned bands, Vigo Thieves have today released their new video single ‘Ghosts’ ahead of two headline shows at the city’s King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut. The video features a stunning performance from John Leslie.
Lead singer Stevie Jukes: “We came up with the idea for the video almost as soon as I finished writing the song along with Stuart from Shootback Productions who shot our last video for ‘Forever’. We couldn’t get anyone to play the part though, so we were very close to shelving it and going with Plan B which was a basic band performance video, not something we wanted to do as our songs have a cinematic quality that we like to highlight through film.”
“I caught John Leslie on daytime television talking about everything he had been through and it was exactly what we were looking for, so Stuart got in touch with his agent. The following Sunday we shot the film downstairs in the State Bar. It happened that quickly. We are delighted with the results, John turns in a brilliant performance and Stuart has captured it fantastically well.”
‘Ghosts’ is the second single (following ‘Forever’ with video starring Jody Latham) to be lifted from the forthcoming ‘Heart & Soul Pt II EP’ which will be available via itunes in early March. The single was written by Stevie Jukes, performed by Vigo Thieves. Production by Stevie Jukes and Chris Gorman and recorded at Tornface Studios in Glasgow.
Vigo Thieves will be playing a rare two nights at King Tut’s in Glasgow on Friday 8 and Saturday 9 February. Both shows promise to be rather special.
