Malcolm in the Middle, The Complete Third Season is available for the first time on DVD from Feb 4th. With an opening broadcast attracting 3.3 million viewers in the UK, Malcolm in the Middle is a hugely popular show that ran for 7 seasons on BBC2on Friday evenings from 2000- 2007.
Season 3 includes the 2 part episode Company Picnic which received 2 Emmy nominations including Susan Sarandon’s nomination for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series. There are also guest appearances from among others Tom Green, Magic Johnson, Heidi Klum and Christina Ricci.
Created and Executive Produced by Emmy AwardÒ winning writer Linwood Boomer, this inventive half-hour series is seen through the eyes of Malcolm (Frankie Muniz), a normal boy but with a genius IQ who cannot seem to make any sense of the opposite sex, much less his embarrassing family. Lois (Jane Kaczmarek) is the outspoken, opinionated Mom and her creative punishments and tough-as-nails approach always prevent the boys from slipping one past her. Hal (Bryan Cranston) the dad is a certified legend in his own mind, but often finds himself creating more chaos than his four boys combined. Malcolm’s older brother Reese (Justin Berfield) has made up for his lack of intelligence with deviance. Francis (Christopher Kennedy Masterson), a former rebel is the oldest and favourite brother of Malcolm. And then there’s younger brother Dewey (Erik Per Sullivan), who just doesn’t know any better than to look up to his brothers.
