Glasgow’s Tenement TV Launches First Inner City Festival

FAST becoming the hub of incredible musical talent, Tenement TV launch their first ever music festival in its home town of Glasgow with over 30 acts performing across five venues.

The Tenement Trail, taking place on Saturday 9th March, is a day-to-night multi venue event featuring the very best in new Scottish talent including acts Discopolis, Bwani Junction, Blindfolds, BABY STRANGE, Sunshine Social, TeenCanteen.

Tenement TV resides in a west-end tenement flat- perfectly equipped for sessions with its Byres Road location and high echoing ceilings. TTV have transformed their front room into an awesome recording studio. The TTV Team opens up the door and lets the magic happen as bands record unplugged, intimate sessions which are then streamed on the Tenement TV website.

TTV have created an innovate product that allows Internet users to discover music – whether it be old or new. Tenement TV has carried out sessions with the likes of Jake Bugg, Passenger and Kassidy during 2012 and is looking at exciting line-ups in the New Year.

In October 2012, The TTV website launched an editorial strand to their site- offering music fans honest and frank interviews with the likes of Tame Impala, Joy Division / New Order legend Peter Hook and Dundonian-lads The View. Always one step ahead, the boys live out their passions through TTV and are even looking to take the name stateside at this year’s SXSW festival in Texas.

Stretching across venues The Art School, Nice N Sleazy, Broadcast and G2- tickets are priced £10 and available from Tickets Scotland (link). It all kicks off at 2:30pm, with the after dark activities taking place at Camden Nights clubnight in Bath Street’s Flat 0/1.

With a whole host of great local bands already announced this should be a great day of music. Look out for a review of the event here on Glasswerk.
