This captivating duo met as a music college in Kilburn in 2010 and features vocalist Emma Panas from London and keyboardist/producer Duncan McDougall from Glasgow.
Peddling a haunting epic electronic folk sound, Paper Crows at times verge on the melancholic and are vaguely reminiscent of contemporaries Hurts – not a bad thing. There’s enough going on sonically to make this intriguing, and much more than ambient bleeps – most notably Panas’ fragile, papery vocal and the inspired production and rhythm work of McDougall, which ties everything together succinctly.
