Straight out of the anthemic pop school that brought us the likes of The Script, Coldplay and Bruno Mars comes Brandon Sheer, a 24 year old artist from NYC releasing his solo material under the moniker Sheare. He has recently finished working on his debut record that was executively produced and mixed by Mark “Spike” Stent (Coldplay,Arcade Fire,Keane,Muse).
Lacking a label, Sheer has taken his own steps to market the release and has collaborated with art directors Howard Wakefield and Simon Griffen (New Order, Joy Division, Pulp) on a guerilla marking/street art campaign as a way to promote the release of the debut EP, out April 16th.
The campaign features a series of logos that coincide with the album artwork and each logo features downloadable code that allow people to download the upcoming EP on my website for free. The logos are then attached to glow in the dark balloons in placed in various locations around NYC. Snazzy.
Check out the animated music video that he shot in London earlier this year with M-I-E (Regina Spector, George Michael, Faithless) and or music.
