INTRODUCING: The Colourist

It’s a good day for new US music today as this new single from The Colourist clambered out of our emails and put us in the mood for a Friday office party. There’s not a great deal of information floating around about the band other than that they’re a four piece from Orange County, they list ghost hunting and tropical drinks as interests, and they’re peddling the kind of synth-ridden, retro tinged indie that fans of Wave Machines and Outfit will be familiar with. Perfect.

There’s a sunshine soaked hook to Little Games that compliments the pitch shifted guitar lead line perfectly as keyboards shimmer tantalisingly in the background and the Blondie inspired disco bass line of Wishing Wells is a pleasant surprise that hints at a much more accessible side to this intriguing new band.
