MAMA Group To Open East Village Arts Club Venue In Liverpool
In some great news for Liverpool and the North West music scene, MAMA Group have finally announced the launch of East Village Arts Club, which opens on Friday 19th April.
Formerly known as The Barfly and now commonly referred to as The Masque, the venue has been empty since shutting the doors over a year ago when the previous owners announced it was no longer financially viable to keep the venue open. The Arts Club will be based around a brand new bar space open late every night and a kitchen serving lovingly hand-crafted food, with the venue side seeing installation of brand new sound, lights, bars and toilets all encompassing a careful restoration of many of the building’s original features.
Managing Director David Laing says, “Myself and Archie McIntosh, MAMA’s Managing Director of Property, and all the team here in Liverpool working on the Arts Club feel proud and privileged to give this great building a new lease of life. There’s an incredible history to the place, from Charles Dickens’ readings to being The Royal Institution’s base, using the stunning Theatre as its auditorium. The city has such a rich cultural legacy and we want the Arts Club to continue this. My family are local too, so this project’s success is important to me on a personal level too.”
The Arts Club opens its doors on Friday 19th April with an MTA Records show, with Chase and Status DJing, plus MistaJam, Joker B2B Swindle, Killsonik, Kove and special guests to be announced.
