Hunter Valentine – Pulse

With sexy rock n’ roll stage personalities and exceptional musical abilities, Canadian rockers Hunter Valentine started off on the right foot in 2005 with their first self-financed EP. As the girls gained momentum in those early years, they then released their first full-length album The Impatient Romantic (True North Records) in 2007.

By then their fans were hooked and anxiously awaiting the 2010 release of Lessons from the Late Night (Tommy Boy), which gave new listeners a taste of Hunter Valentine’s utter commitment to a riotous disregard for a typical girl-group sound. Latest album Collide and Conquer was produced by Greg Nori, who has also worked with Sum 41, Iggy Pop and Hedley and is an extension of the trio’s ethos. Before releasing latest video ‘Pulse’, Hunter Valentine unleashed a music video for stormer of a track ‘Liar Liar’.

Hunter Valentine’s already devoted fan base in the US only grew bigger when lead singer Kiyomi McCloskey and drummer Laura Petracca starred in a major reality television series, and the band has since reached new heights in the US. Their recent success has already sent them around the world and back, but their fast-paced past is evidence that the dedicated musicians built their success from the ground up.

Hunter Valentine is not afraid to utterly slay their instruments at each and every live show. Loyal fans that travel from all over are met with an unforgettable performance from the first haunting note to the last on-the-floor guitar solo. Appropriately, Revolver Magazine named them some of the 2012 “Hottest Chicks in Hard Rock” because of their sultry and commanding musical prowess. They’ve toured North America three times since 2011. Soon after their headliner, they played a showcase in Tokyo, then headed back to New York City where they shared a stage with Whoopi Goldberg, Rosie O’Donnell, Adam Lambert, Sarah MacLauchlan and Roberta Flack at a benefit concert hosted by Cyndi Lauper. Hunter Valentine are opening for Sum 41 in the US and then heading over here before hitting the road with the timeless Cyndi Lauper. Though they started in Canada, the band now calls New York City home.
