OneGirlOneBoy release their new 7 track EP on June 24th. These also release their new single Wasted in June.
OneGirlOneBoy do not write songs about love. Try jealousy, suspicion or seduction and you’ll be closer to the mark. OneBoy says, “We write music that makes people sit up and think; something they can relate to”. Life, in all its warped glory. Like Twin Peaks, their music is distorted. Sometimes lustful, always emotive but rarely loving.
The band release their eponymous debut EP on Forth Recordings on 24th June 2013. Fresh from recording with Gavin Monaghan (Editors, Spiritualized), infectious new tracks ‘Wasted’ and ‘Dirty Town’ resonate with a dark intensity which sits somewhere between Goldfrapp and Garbage.
Already featured on BBC Introducing, and tipped as DHP’s ‘Ones To Watch 2013’, OneGirlOneBoy have recently played key support slots in Nottingham for Little Comets and Seasfire. Visually captivating, the band receive plaudits for their style and energy, which is as striking in their videos and live performances as their music. OneGirl delivers vocals with a passion that evokes Stevie Nicks in Rhiannon, adding soul and brimstone to the craft that OneBoy provides on guitar.
The 7-track EP also features the band’s earlier two singles, ‘Sylvia’ and their debut from December 2012, ‘If This Is Love’. A song about infidelity and the way it can twist a relationship to its core until there’s nothing left to give. Both download-only releases gained significant support on YouTube and from online press.
