We caught up with Manchester based electronic hopefuls Futurecop! to learn a little bit more about them ahead of their headline show at Surya in London tonight.
When we first met…
At university
We chose our name because…
Mainly because it looked and sounded cool. At the time we were heavily into 80s sci fi movies which were surreal and fun, so we thought a made up character like futurecop! would resemble what we were trying to do.
We knew we were on to something when…
Mylo’s co producer and Audio Bully’s manager wanted to work with us, our first ever gig was in Sydney and our first EP was with IHEARTCOMIX and Southern Fried together.
Our biggest influences are…
Weezer, Pavement, Saves The Day, Van Halen, Stan Bush, Angels and Airwaves, Phil Collins and the OSTs to the 1986 Transformers Movie, Flight of the Navigator, The Wizard and The Breakfast Club
We’re most proud of…
Our fans
Watch the video for coming home here:
Our ideal support slot would be with…
Weezer, Justice, The Postal Service
One item we can’t live without on tour is…
Lip balm
We can’t stop listening to…
Miami Nights 1984, Youth Lagoon, Anamanaguchi
We’re not ashamed to admit that…
We are nerds
Catch us next…
Surya, London tonight (5th July) at 10pm
