Various – #Holiday Anthems

When I first looked at the Holiday Anthems track listing I was a little taken aback. I was expecting something a little more… shall we say, contemporary. Now, don’t get me wrong, this isn’t a bad thing it just took me by surprise and there are definitely some absolute corkers on there.

It’s 3 CDs full of some of the best dance tracks from the past decade or so. There are songs on there like Pretty Green Eyes, Tell It To Me Heart and Don’t Call Me Baby that remind of going on nights out while I was at school!

The fact that it spans so far back does mean that there is a bit of something for everyone on it. Well, maybe not your Nan or great uncle Tony but oldies like me will certainly enjoy the sense of nostalgia some songs bring; even if it is just cringing at the memory of outfits and hairstyles of your teenage years.

Holiday Anthems it may not be, but for me it’ll certainly make a good soundtrack to a bit of a boozy barbecue!
