Illinois blues-rock quartet Filligar have unveiled the trippy, Dali-esque video to their track ‘Money On The Dark Horse’, taken from the forthcoming album Hexagon, released through Decade on September 23rd.
The psychedelia tinged video was created by the Filligar’s bassist Teddy Mathias, who also designs the band’s artwork and posters. The desert landscape seen in Dark Horse was inspired by the band’s most recent tour of the American Southwest. No strangers to travelling far afield, the band were recently appointed cultural ambassadors as part of the Arts Envoys program by The U.S. Department of State, which saw them visit and perform in Azerbaijan.
Despite being a young band, Filligar has produced a prolific catalogue of original music, called “a breath of fresh air” by the powerhouse Consequence of Sound and recognized by the American Society of Composers, Authors, & Publishers (ASCAP) as “of prestige value.” Their previous release The Nerve was nominated for a 2012 Independent Music Award for Best Rock Album.
Filligar’s powerhouse live performance has seen them share stages with the likes of The Black Keys, Alabama Shakes and My Morning Jacket and the band will be touring the UK later this year.
Filligar’s new LP, Hexagon will be released on September 23rd.
