Thirty Seconds To Mars Win Best Rock Video At VMAs

Thirty Seconds To Mars won Best Rock Video for ‘Up In The Air’ at the MTV VMAs on Sunday, beating off stiff competition from Mumford & Sons, Vampire Weekend, Fall Out Boy and Imagine Dragons.

Directed by Bartholomew Cubbins, ‘Up In The Air’ was up for three awards in total, including Best Art Direction and Best Cinematography.

The feature length video marks the band’s third career VMA win; they also won Best Rock video in 2010 for short film The Ride and the MTV2 award in 2006 for The Kill.

Having launched the song into space back in March, ‘Up In The Air’ has had over 10 million YouTube hits to date. You can watch the award winning video here:
