Class of Nuke ‘em High Review

classThe people in Tromaville find themselves in yet another hi-jinks nuclear toxic waste mess as we visit the pupils of Tromaville high in Arrow Videos DVD release of Class of Nuke ‘em High.

The unfortunate scholars of this small town fall foul of a toxic waste spill from the nuclear power station which is extremely well positioned next to the high school.

The halls are run by a misfit gang called the cretins who terrorise the other students and have very little interest in learning anything during their time at school (probably something to do with the drugs they buy from… you guessed it! The local nuclear plant)

Warren and Chrissy are the tales loved up teen couple, who after smoking the nuclear weed, create something much more devastating than the feared Cretin gang.. A monstrous student eating mutant! Hard to believe? Well that’s Troma for you!

Mixed with terrible acting, weak plot and over the top special effects, Class of Nuke ‘em High is everything that people love about the Troma generation of films. Not as good as the Toxic Avenger series but this managed to spawn two sequels and gain a cult reputation.

As usual, Arrow Video has released an edition lavished with special features and although this review is based on the DVD release and not the Blu ray version, it’s still a pretty decent picture for a film of this budget and age on the DVD format.

With the Troma studios trailer reel, deleted scenes interviews with the cast and more, this is probably the best edition of this film on the market to date. It also has a great public service announcement brought to you direct from a very young Lemmy from motorhead, so this release really does have it all.

If you like you’re Troma, dodgy effects, questionable storyline and B(ad) movie actors, you could do a lot worse than check out this great release from Arrow.
