Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters Soundtrack Review

Percy-Jackson-Sea-of-Monsters-SoundtrackAndrew Lockington is slowly getting himself genre credits. The last 5 years have seen him score the likes of the Journey fantasy films as well as the bizarre City of Ember among his many credits. Percy Jackson marks another stab at adventure fantasy.

Having spent much time under the tutelage of recent Oscar winner Mychael Danna (Life of Pi), Lockington clearly knows his way around a score. His work may reflect many familiar attributes to what some of his Hollywood peers are used to delivering, and whilst he is staying with the trends, he has enough ideas of his own at work.

The Percy Jackson film itself didn’t get the highest of praise upon release, but the score at least helps balance favour for the name. The downside is that there is a rather cringe worthy song at the end which stinks of end credits song dying to be a breakout single. No such joy there!
