Russell Brand Ticket Demand Rivals John Mayer

It’s the battle of the boyfriends as Katy Perry’s former husband Russell Brand may no longer be popular with the US singer, though apparently he still has the support of the British public. Demand for tickets to the comedian’s shows are 80% higher than demand for Katy’s current boyfriend, US bluesman John Mayer, according to ticket marketplace Seatwave.

Russell Brand, who is currently touring the UK with his show titled “Messiah Complex”, reportedly divorced the Firework singer via text message. However, the comic’s acrimonious split from Perry doesn’t appear to have harmed his popularity as he continues to experience high demand for his shows. Both acts are performing in the UK throughout October.

Louise Mullock, spokesperson for Seatwave, said:

“Russell Brand’s humour may not be to everyone’s tastes, but in terms of selling tickets, he’s doing extremely well. John Mayer may have won the heart of Katy Perry and may be the more talented performer, but he may need to do more to win the heart of the British public.”
