Patch And The Giant Join Keston Cobblers Club On Tour in February

In what has resulted in the longest headline ever, Patch And The Giant are joining Keston Cobblers Club on their Spring UK dates next year, making the tour a wonderful delight of folk and sea shanty loveliness.

The dates are:

9th Feb – Leeds Brudenell Social Club
10th Feb – Manchester Deaf Institute
11th Feb – Birmingham Hare & Hounds.

Tucked somewhere between the music of Balkan enthusiasts Beirut and the rustic elegance of modern DIY folk‘ (Folk Radio UK), Patch & The Giant are a 7-piece indie/folk band, signed to Folkroom Records.

With a vast complement of instruments including but not limited to violin, cello, accordion, mandolin, brass and banjo, their sound has a rich melodic quality, carrying an epic sense of energy yet just as easily drifts into lyrical and sombre simplicity. Formed in late 2011, they spent the latter part of 2013 touring the independent festival circuit, playing nationwide at festivals including Green Man, LeeFest, Standon Calling, London FolkFest and sharing stages with artists including Johnny Flynn, Matthew and The Atlas, Turin Breaks and The Noisettes. In addition, the band has achieved airplay on BBC Radio 2, was voted second by Independent Music News’ in their global Top 50 Independent Folk Acts for 2013 and been described by TimeOut magazine as one of the defining acts of the London music scene. Patch & The Giant are also behind the thriving Sunday Fete at The Boogaloo in north London (dubbed by GQ magazine as ‘the sweetest little juke-joint in the world’), where they’ve been artists in residence since the start of 2012.

In January 2013 they signed to independent label Folkroom Records. Their debut release, The Boatswain’s Refuge EP, produced by Ben Walker (Navigator Records), was recorded at the historic Crypt Studios in north London and is available via Folkroom Records and on iTunes, Amazon and in store/online from Rough Trade.

Patch & The Giant are joining Keston Cobblers’ Club on their UK tour in a special 4-piece line-up.
