After suffering a near-fatal seizure, visionary performer Trash McSweeney now sees colour in music and has set out to share with the world the ideas he has seen and felt. By taking to his guitar, piano and notebook, The Red Paintings were officially born upon the dawn of the new millennium…
Orchestral art rock group The Red Paintings have released their new single “Wasps” from their debut full-length studio album ‘The Revolution Is Never Coming.’ The highly anticipated album is out now on The End Records (The Prodigy, The Dandy Warhols) in North America & Graphite Records in the UK & Europe. “Wasps” is currently impacting at radio with early adopters beginning to push the song into rotation at WARQ and KFMA. Recently, the music video made its premiere at MTVu, calling it “dark, cinematic and slightly disturbing…similar in spirit to NIN or 30 Seconds To Mars.” The video has already debuted at the Roswell International Film Fesitval. Known for their visionary stage shows incorporating live art, human canvases, and theatrics, The Red Paintings are a multi-faceted genre-spanning act incorporating everything rock from alternative to punk to industrial. Fresh from UK festival touring with Y Not Festival and Rebellion Festival, the band recently wrapped a U.S. tour supporting …And You Will Know Us By The Trail of Dead and will return to the U.S. in December to tour in support of their new album. Following a sold-out U.S theatre tour earlier in the year, The Red Paintings will once again join punk-lords Mindless Self Indulgence on their massive UK, Russia & Europe tour throughout November and December.
The band is currently seeking submissions from local artists, to curate the live onstage art show to incorporate into their stateside musical performances. For consideration, visit the band’s Facebook page:
