Look Like Gold is the new offering from London based, Edinburgh born Jakil. The single will be available as a free download via the bands website and Facebook pages from the 16th December 2013.
It doesn’t take long after hearing a few tracks from the bands upcoming debut album to understand what slice of pop they are siding with. Recorded in the heart of the English countryside and mixed by Charles ‘Chicky’ Reeves (Orchestral Manoeuvers in the Dark, Grace Jones, Ray Charles and Radiohead), the Scottish five piece push melody after hook after riff after harmony in a manner that this breed of popular music can only be labeled as, ‘tight & tasteful’. The single has already picked up support from radio stations around the country including BBC Radio Scotland, Bauer’s In Demand: Scotland Uncut and Amazing Radio.
The band have filled home venues such as The Liquid Rooms, Usher Hall and The Picture House, playing alongside an array of different acts such as The Dykeenies Boy Kill Boy, Nina Nesbitt and many others. A recent sell out show at The Nottinghill Arts Club confirmed that Jakil’s fan base is spreading and here to stay.
