Independent label Domino Records have issued a statement in tribute to The Child Of Lov, the Belgian musician who passed away at the age of 26 last week.
Martijn William Zimri Teerlinck died after complications during surgery last week on Tuesday 10th December after releasing debut album ‘The Child Of Lov’ in June earlier this year, featuring guest spots from Damon Albarn and DOOM on Domino’s sister label Double Six.
“It is with great sadness that we confirm the passing of Double 6 recording artist The Child of Lov,” a statement on Domino’s website read. “His talent and friendship are a heavy loss to us, but we will always carry the pride of having been involved in his short but particularly bright recording career.”
Teerlinck’s manager, Trey Reames, also released a statement following the musician’s death: “He lived a life of struggle and can now rest peacefully. In his own words: ‘When I was younger, I had a tough time physically. I have seen too many hospital beds. It made me stronger. Makes you realize death is always near, for anyone. And what a wonderful thing life is and how grateful we should be.’”
