In part two of our 2013 end of year list round-up we catch up with Adam Taylor who works at our London venue Surya to find out what’s been rocking the stereo, and our resident metal reviewer Mercedes Brown takes us through the highs and lows in the world of heavy….
Can we talk about balls on the site? For me, 2013 was all about balls. The well established, firmly weighted balls of John Grant and Nick Cave. The new, up and coming balls of Drenge and Holograms. The soulful, “Come on baby” crooning balls of Charles Bradley and Matthew E White. But most impressively of all, I’ve gone through the whole of 2013 without really knowing who Robin Thicke is.

2013 has, quite frankly, been revolutionary for Rock. With an endless stream of break-through debuts and revolutionary come-backs, choosing only 10 albums has been more difficult that first anticipated, but here are my picks! 2014 has a lot to live up to, that’s for sure.
