Brit Awards Nominations 2014 Revealed

The nominations are in for the Brit Awards 2014 as it’s also revealed that Ellie Goulding will join the already stellar line up of Arctic Monkeys, Bastille, Rudimental, Bruno Mars and Katy Perry with further acts to be announced.

Topping the list of nominations this year are electronic music duo Disclosure and four piece rock band Bastille, who appear in four different categories. They will both be vying for Best British Group, British Breakthrough Act, British Single as well as the prestigious MasterCard British Album of the Year. Following hot on their tails with three nominations are Hackney drum and bass outfit Rudimentalwho are also up for British Album, British Single and British Group.

Dan Smith from Bastille commented, “We’re completely blown away by the four nominations! When we started the band we never thought we’d be recognised in such a way so the whole thing is an awesome surprise.

David Bowie is nominated for British Male Solo Artist and is up against Jake Bugg, James Blake, John Newman and Tom Odell who are all more than 40 years younger than the legendary singer.

David Bowie, Bastille, Disclosure, Rudimental and Arctic Monkeys are all nominated for the coveted Album of the Year award.
