Bands playing will include:
DAMN VANDALS, whose new album Rocket Out Of London will be released in April 2014.
Their exhilarating live shows have gained them a reputation as one of “one of the most exciting bands to surface from the UK this year” (This Is Fake DIY), and 2013 will see further touring along with a number of UK festival appearances already agreed.
The deep and powerful distinctive vocals of Jack Kansas have drawn comparisons with David Bowie, Mark Lanegan, Jim Morrison and Matt Berninger of The National. Jack is supported by a toweringly-talented band, consisting of Adam Kilemore Gardens (bass), Chris Christianson (drums) and Frank Pick with his soaring and haunting guitar riffs.
THE TUESDAY CLUB – Described as ‘Dad’s Army Spacerock, futurised revisionism and born at various junctures between 1957 and 1984, the age range and experience encased within this mysterious 8 piece, would put many of today’s more established reformers to shame.
Reaction to their debut single ‘Dolly Dynamite’ this summer was huge. From widespread critical acclaim to Q Radio plays the music media were pretty much on board the good ship Tuesday Club from the off. The icing on the cake for their debut year? An exclusive Loaded TV set recorded at the end of 2012 and broadcast in the Morecambe and Wise slot on Boxing Day, well what did you expect?
HELENE GREENWOOD who has been songwriting for eight years and originally started her music career as a contemporary composer studying at The Royal Academy. The birth of her daughter in 2005 inspired Helene to want to pursue more narrative based, lyrical music. She completed a music degree from Royal Holloway and studied singing with internationally acclaimed singers Nia Lynn and Anita Wardell which gave Helene a fantastic opportunity to explore her passion for the harmonies of jazz standards. She also studied songwriting with award winning American singer Gretchen Parlato in 2011 at Stanford University.
