Liverpool trio Ninetails have revealed the second track from their forthcoming EP Quiet Confidence, released 10th March on Pond Life.
Speaking of their influences for the EP, front man Jordan Balaber explains, “Aesthetically I was inspired by really grandiose and romantic images and music. The creation sequence in “The Tree of Life” was an aesthetic reference point, and “Requiem” by Gabriel Faure.”
This grandiose claim could be easily dismissed until you delve into the sumptuous ‘An Aria’ which skirts around elements of jazz, classical, the current trend for future-soul and R&B, combining them in a heady mix of angular guitar work and floating melodies.
The band will be appearing at Liverpool Sound City Festival on 1st May supporting John Hopkins.
