300: Rise of An Empire Soundtrack Review
This is a surprisingly layered soundtrack that matches the visual style of the 300 series and offers plenty of varied themes along with the expected thundering and crashing of percussion you might expect for such a visceral feast.
The score comes courtesy of Junkie XL (AKA Tom Holkenborg) who has composed for a variety of animated movies like the Kung Fu Panda 2 and Madagascar 3, but has also put in additional music for Hans Zimmer of the likes of The Dark Knight Rises and Man of Steel. He has also composed for the upcoming Divergent. This 300 soundtrack is likely to give him solo credence for adapting to a style, but also focusing on eastern European sounds in the design of the piece.
Anyone who likes their sounds epic and ethnic sounding might want to look into this one.
