Razorlight Announce First London Show For Two Years

Wednesday 4th June 2014 Razorlight will play The Electric Ballroom, Camden, London. Tickets go on sale 9am Friday 11th April 2014

The band play their first show since 2012 as a lead in to summer festivals. Johnny Borrell, who put Razorlight on hiatus while he worked on his solo project, Johnny Borrell & Zazou, plans to lead a double life through the summer, taking both bands on the road, to play same day shows, at many of the festivals.

Razorlight’s line up will be Johnny Borrell on vocals and guitar, Gus Robertson – guitar, Skully – drums, and eighteen year old Brazilian, João Mello – bass. João joins Razorlight on bass after spending the past year touring with Johnny and Zazou as their sax player.

Zazou’s line up comprises Johnny Borrell – vocals, guitar, Darren Berry – drums, shakers, riqq, vocals, João Mello – saxophone, piano. A string section will join Zazou for summer shows.

Razorlight’s summer activity celebrates Johnny Borrell’s huge current enjoyment of the various strands of his musical life, allowing him to play with a wider pool of musicians and to further ideas for recording on both sides.

He recently recorded a 4 track EP as Johnny Borrell & Zazou. ‘The Artificial Night’ is released through Atlantic Culture Recordings on Monday 28th April, accompanied by a London Water Rats show on Tues 29th April.

Meanwhile, Razorlight’s show at the Electric Ballroom falls 10 years after the release of the band’s critically acclaimed, multi-platinum, debut album ‘Up All Night’.
