Eva Plays Dead are back on the road again in May hitting Nottingham, Manchester, Edinburgh, Leeds, Derby, Birmingham and London. They have titled it the ‘Sweat On The Ceiling’ tour as they have chosen some of their favourite, intimate venues across the UK to get up close and personal before their next release.
Eva Plays Dead have been recognized for their powerful female vocals, edgy lyrics, catchy guitar rock riffs and their powerhouse rhythm section. The band, made up of Tiggy Dockerty (Vocals), Matt Gascoyne (Guitar), Zach Shannon (Bass) and Seb Boyse (Drums), makes audiences across the country question how just four people can make such a noise.
Having already released two very successful singles with accompanying music videos, which lead to the band being featured on the MySpace homepage, the Muzu TV homepage as ‘Muzu Recommends: Breaking Artist’ and the homepage of Glasswerk, alongside a collection of support from radio stations across the UK, including Kerrang! Radio, and great reviews from a range of webzines, the debut album ‘Guilt Trips & Sins,’ from Eva Plays Dead, released in March 2013 through Artifex Records has so far received raving reviews from a range of webzines and fans, including a 10/10 from PlanetMosh.
The initial album release was supported by a full UK tour comprising of 11 dates, booked and promoted by the band themselves, included dates in Stafford, Manchester, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Leeds, Birmingham, Cambridge, London and a sold out local show at Rock City Basement, Nottingham. Having already released the singles “We’re Gonna Make it” and “Secret” taken from the album, to which you can find accompanying music videos on YouTube, the band are currently recording their new EP and considering plans for the release.
From classic influences ranging from Guns ‘N’ Roses, Aerosmith, AC/DC, Rancid, Black Flag and Motorhead to modern rock bands including Foo Fighters, Queens of the Stoneage, The Wonder Years, Heaven’s Basement and local favourites LostAlone, combined with the storytelling of great jazz artists which influence Tiggy’s lyrics including Etta James, Aretha Franklin and Ella Fitzgerald, the band have created their own, unmistakable brand of rock music.
