V Festival Confirms 14 More Acts

V Festival 2014, sponsored by Virgin Media, have today announced that Tinie Tempah, Childish Gambino, CeeLo Green, John Martin, Pixie Lott, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Vance Joy, Chloe Howl, Josh Record, Jess Glynne, Icona Pop, Howling Bells, Becky Hill and To Kill A King are confirmed to perform at this year’s festival which takes place 16-17 August in Hylands Park, Chelmsford and Weston Park, Staffordshire.

These exciting acts join headliners Justin Timberlake and The Killers, plus Lily Allen, Ed Sheeran, Rudimental, Chase & Status, Kaiser Chiefs, Elbow and many more to play at what is set to be the most exciting weekend of the summer.

British hip hop star Tinie Tempah returns to V Festival after a triumphant performance in 2012, riding high from the release of his second album Demonstration at the end of last year, which reached No. 3 in the UK and was certified Gold in February.

Actor turned musician Childish Gambino will be out to promote his latest album Because The Internet, whilst flamboyant soul star CeeLo Green will be back on UK shores in celebration of his 12th year as a solo artist.

Swedish House Mafia collaborator John Martin will make his V Festival debut, whilst pop princess Pixie Lott will be back at V, riding high from the success of her recent Top 10 single ‘Nasty’. Fresh from her appearance on BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing, Sophie Ellis-Bextor is back to V Festival to perform songs from her recent No. 4 album Wanderlust.

Australian alternative rock artist Vance Joy, BBC Sound of 2014 and BRITs Critics Choice nominee Chloe Howl, and the Zane Lowe-championed Josh Record will all be set to wow crowds in Hylands Park and Weston Park.

Jess Glynne, who featured on Clean Bandit’s No. 1 single ‘Rather Be’, will appear at V Festival for the first time, as will Swedish DJ duo Icona Pop, best known for their song ‘I Love It’ featuring Charlie XCX, which was used in an episode of Lena Dunham’s Girls.

Australian indie rockers Howling Bells are back to the UK with a new album Heartstrings due in June, performing over the weekend with Becky Hill, who collaborated with Rudimental on single ‘Powerless’ as well as writing and featuring on Wilkinson’s Top 10 single ‘Afterglow’, and British folk band To Kill A King.

V Festival is now in its 19th year and is renowned for bringing the very best eclectic music together for one mind-blowing weekend. Last year saw incredible sets from headliners Beyonce and Kings of Leon, with other show stopping performances from the likes of Jessie J, The Script and Ellie Goulding. V Festival has an unrivalled music pedigree, previous headliners have included Coldplay, Radiohead, Oasis, Eminem, Foo Fighters, The Stone Roses and The Arctic Monkeys. V Festival is now established as the biggest festival in the UK with over 170,000 fans attending, and was the first festival to establish rotating acts across two sites.
